Gentleman’s Retreat Farm
Welcome to the heart of eco-friendly bliss, where the Swasey River whispers its enchanting secrets and the lush jungles cradle a haven known as Swasey River Farm. The story of this farm began with a dream of fertile land and a desire to create something truly unique. In 2016, the seeds of that dream were planted on 20 acres of pristine jungle. With local hands and unwavering determination, this canvas was transformed into the well-known Swasey River Farm.
Amidst orchards and vegetable gardens nourished by the rich riverside soil, a bounty was cultivated that sustains both body and soul. A dedicated local team tends to a symphony of sheep, pigs, cows, and chickens, ensuring that life flourishes in harmony with the natural world. As the farm grew, so did the many requests from visitors for accommodation in this laid-back jungle setting, leading to the construction of the first cabana and a delightful pool. Soon thereafter, local tourism certification was granted, and a second cabana was commissioned with a third on the way.
A full bar and lounge area caters to popular gatherings featuring pig on the spit Sunday lunches and wood-fired pizza days. The chef serves farm-to-table delights, utilizing the freshest local ingredients. The main house features a one-bedroom layout with a lounge area reminiscent of a big game viewing platform, offering a vista over the fruit trees and gardens. Downstairs includes a cold-room and processing area for sought-after preserves and dried meat products.
The farm also boasts chicken runs housing a large number of chickens that produce genuine free-range eggs, sold nearby. Additional pens accommodate pigs and other livestock, while around 300 cacao trees were planted in 2017 alongside a variety of fruit trees.
